About Suzanne Lee Photographer
Suzanne Lee is a professional documentary photographer and videographer living between India and Malaysia while working on photography and multimedia projects across Asia. She is represented internationally by PANOS Pictures, a photo agency based out of London.
Dividing her time between commissions and long-form personal photography projects, she does international reportage assignments for publications such as The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal, Saveur Magazine and Marie Claire France. She also does photographic and multimedia projects for development organisations such as FAO (United Nations), International Planned Parenthood Federation, Save the Children UK, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Wateraid. Her work has also been published in large features in Le Monde, Svenska DagBladet, GEO and Polityka besides others. Her corporate clients include SONY, Khazanah, Goldman Sachs (CSR) and Sanofi.
Suzanne has recently finished working on a photobook project on slavery with Legatum Foundation (2014) and in 2010, and her works have been published in two books: The Mercy Project/Inochi by James W. Delano for Hospice (Mado-sha publishing, Japan), and Malaisie - Modernité et traditions en Asie du Sud-est by Jerome Bouchaud (Editions Olizane, Switzerland).
Suzanne's work has been exhibited widely in print and multimedia exhibitions internationally, with one exhibition running currently in Somerset House in London for the World Photography Organisation's Sony World Photography Awards. Her past exhibitions include a solo exhibition in Museum Ecomusee Forges et Moulins de Pinsot (France), Obscura Photography Festival 2013 (Malaysia), Ping Yao International Photography Festival 2013 (China), Photokina 2012 Koelnmesse (Germany), DAYS Japan (9 city tour) 2011 , Yokohama Photojournalism Festival 2011 (Japan), Angkor Photo Festival 2010 and 2007 (Cambodia), as well as at the Petronas Twin Towers Art Gallery (Malaysia) besides many others. Her work has also been awarded in the 2011 DAYS Japan Intl Photojournalism Awards and the 2007 Angkor Photo Festival, and she has been nominated for the 2012 and 2010 UNICEF-GEO Photo of the Year Awards. Suzanne was also on the Jury for the KL International Photo Awards 2015.
Suzanne Lee is a SONY Global Imaging Ambassador and is also supported by WotanCraft Atelier. In Malaysia, she regularly presents talks on photography and has appeared on many discussion panels such as the Merdeka Awards Roundtable Discussions, with her most recent appearance being at the Poskod Journalism Campus during the Cooler Lumpur Festival in Malaysia.
